What did people wear before Cosyfeet?

Swollen feet are a common problem that can be caused by a number of factors including medical conditions, pregnancy, weight and even the weather. Having footwear that fits can mean the difference between being able or unable to walk but it hasn’t always been easy finding shoes for swollen feet.

Before Cosyfeet started trading back in 1983, there were plenty of people who needed extra roomy footwear but not a single source of supply in the UK. People with swollen or problem feet had to put up with pain and minimum mobility. They often resorted to cutting slices out of their shoes to try to make them more comfortable or wearing shoes larger than they needed just to get the extra width and depth.

Having successfully met the challenge of designing shoes for swollen feet, Cosyfeet’s current design challenge is to meet the demands of a new generation of customers who want an extra roomy shoe which fits but also has a younger, more fashionable look.
