Betty has been a Cosyfeet customer for 13 years since her feet and ankles began to swell following a hip replacement. Betty admits that she struggled to find footwear prior to this as her feet are wide and she has a high instep. Over the years, Betty has worn a number of Cosyfeet styles but she particularly likes Cosyfeet elastane shoes as they are so comfortable.

At Cosyfeet we have used Elastane fabric in different shoe styles for a number of years. It is popular with our customers as they love the way it moulds to the shape of the foot without putting pressure on swelling, bunions or mis-shapen feet.
Until now Elastane has only been used in our shoes but following requests from our customers and healthcare professionals we have designed a sandal encompassing an element of Elastane.

Cosyfeet footwear is renowned for being incredibly light but some styles weigh as little as 5oz! Some of our customers simply have to have really lightweight shoes as they suffer with extreme fatigue caused by conditions such as MS.
Cosyfeet designer Nick Brown is mindful that our customer age range spans several generations. Nick explains, “whilst our footwear must be as light as possible, I continue to look at the style of our shoes to ensure it appeals to our younger customers.”

Cosyfeet footwear is specifically designed for people with swollen feet rather than for diabetic feet. However, we are aware many of our customers are diabetics and we discuss their requirements when designing footwear. Cosyfeet designer, Nick Brown explains “We carefully consider the position of seams and are pleased to offer many styles with no seams at all in the toe area”. In addition, particular materials offer anti-fungal benefits, another consideration for the health of diabetic feet.

Feedback from Cosyfeet customers has highlighted the importance of our footwear being very adjustable and ‘easy to step into’. With this in mind, Cosyfeet footwear designer Nick Brown has designed a new sandal for this season. Nick explains “Many of our customers find getting their shoes on and off very difficult and need to adjust their footwear during the day as swelling fluctuates”. The new sandal ‘Enjoy’ has been incredibly popular with our fit testers, one of whom has agreed to be featured in this fit test.
