It was great to meet so many of you at the SCP Conference last week. We had over 400 visitors to the stand who we hoped enjoyed looking at some of our new footwear, socks and hosiery products. Our new ‘weatherproof’ elastane boot attracted a lot of attention. If you didn’t get to see this please follow the link to see it on our website.

New Socks for the Homeless

Cosyfeet is donating 500 pairs of socks to homeless people attending Crisis at Christmas centres across London from 23rd to 30th December this year. The socks will be offered to users of the volunteer podiatry service provided over the Christmas period.

Crisis is a national charity for single homeless people. At Christmas the charity provides companionship and support to alleviate loneliness and isolation, and to help people to take their first steps out of homelessness.

“Crisis are always looking for donations of suitable socks as well as all sorts of other food and clothing for use during the Christmas week,” says Cosyfeet’s Vicki Palmer. “We’re delighted to be able to help.”

We are regularly asked for samples of our footwear to use at health promotion events.

If you are holding an event in support of National Falls Prevention week we can send you some FREE Cosyfeet samples and literature.

The samples may be used to demonstrate to patients the benefits of suitable footwear to prevent trips and falls.

The literature includes Cosyfeet catalogues and an advice about fitting footwear.

For this season we have some innovative new styles featuring elastane including a problem-solving boot. Super-stretchy elastane offers a practical solution for fluctuations of swelling as its gentle two-way stretch effortlessly mirrors the changes to the shape of the foot. Elastane shoes are particularly suitable for patients with swollen feet that are mis-shapen or have bunions.

Cosyfeet Podiatry Award Winner Announced Abdulkadir Abdul a 2nd Year Podiatry Student from the University of Southampton has been chosen to receive the £1000 award for 2010.

Abdul will be working as part of a specialist Podiatry team helping the homeless in London.
