Product Features

Many of the products sold within Cosyfeet.com have unique features which we feel are key points that require further explanation. We have therefore, provided you with a brief definition of the main features in order to help you make an informed decision about which products will be of most benefit to you.

Super-light SolesOur Super-light soles are made from a chemical compound with rubbery properties called Ethylene Vinyl Acetate (EVA). They are exceptionally lightweight but not the most durable, making them less suitable for those who are reasonably active or happen to be hard on their footwear.

Super-light soles feel and appear rigid when handled but this is less noticeable when on the foot.

Used on our womens and mens sandals, their exceptional lightness is their greatest attribute. They are also easily modified making them ideal for individuals who require their footwear to be adapted.

The tread on this type of sole unit is less defined which can be of benefit to those who have a tendency to shuffle their feet.

Flexible Polyurethane SolesOur Flexible Polyurethane Soles are highly durable making them more suited to active individuals and those who tend to be hard on their footwear. Many products found on the High Street will be produced with this form of soling.

The weight difference when compared with our super-light soles might be noticeable in the hand, but lesser so on the foot for the majority of wearers.

Polyurethane does not lend itself to modification in the same way that EVA does but footwear featuring Polyurethane soles can be adapted by a good cobbler.

The tread on this type of sole unit generally offers superior grip when compared with the super-light EVA soles.

Removable Insoles Styles that show this symbol feature the added benefit of two removable insoles. The contoured footbed can be removed to give added depth, whilst the additional Poron sock offers added comfort and further fitting flexibility.

TPR Rubber SolesThe majority of our slipper and fabric shoes feature a sole unit made from thermo-plastic rubber (TPR). It is slightly heavier than polyurethane and not so durable but is very flexible and ideal for the type of footwear we use it on. It also withstands machine washing.

We do not recommend this type of sole to individuals who require modifications to their footwear.

Machine WashableThis footwear is machine washable at up to 40º C. Simply place in your washing machine with similar coloured items, ensuring that the Velcro is fastened and wash on a normal setting.

It is important that you allow the footwear to dry naturally – it can be line dried or in an airing cupboard but should not be placed near to heat sources such as radiators or open fires. Do not tumble dry.

What is extra roomy footwear? All Cosyfeet womens footwear is a EEEEE+ fitting.

All Cosyfeet mens footwear is a HH+ fitting.

Cosyfeet footwear is made on our own special lasts that are wider and deeper than normal making our footwear ideal if you have exceptionally wide, swollen or bandaged feet. The extra depth can also help to accommodate bunions, toe problems and the use of orthotics.

Just order your normal shoe size – because Cosyfeet footwear is so much roomier than other footwear there is no need to order a larger shoe size.

Our footwear is also very adjustable which is helpful for feet that tend to change shape and size during the day.

Elastane is a synthetic fibre known for it's exceptional elasticity. It is also known as spandex and more recognisable under the trade name of Lycra®. We use Elastane in some of our footwear as it's elasticity allows the uppers of the shoe to change according to the shape and size of your feet but then return to it's original form afterwards.

To clean the Elastane part of your shoes, simply let any mud or dirt dry before brushing with a small dry brush.

CaretexFour layers to keep your feet fresh and dry.

Caretex is the name given to a hi-tech membrane inserted into the fabric of our Women’s fabric shoes.

This amazing membrane has the ability to keep moisture out yet let perspiration through.

This allows your feet to keep fresh and dry, no matter what the weather.

Diabetic FriendlyOur products that feature the diabetic friendly logo have been recognised as being suitable for use by individuals who have diabetes. However, we are not medical suppliers and so you need to make your own judgement about suitability for your individual needs.

When it comes to footwear socks and hosiery we always suggest that you run your fingers inside any item before wear, checking for anything that may harm. If in doubt we always recommend that you contact your own health advisor.

PoronEvery time you take a step and your foot touches the ground, a shock wave travels through your feet, legs, spine and neck.

Tired feet, an aching back and headaches are all symptoms of “step shock”.

Poron insoles are made from a micro porous cushioning material that is shock-absorbent and has an added anti-bacterial ingredient. It’s like having millions of tiny springs beneath your feet, making walking less painful and, because the insoles are only 3mm thick, they will fit into most shoes and slippers without affecting the fit.

PoronLimited edition lines are styles or colourways which we only make and sell a limited number of. They allow us to keep refreshing the range without constantly increasing the number of options in our catalogue and are usually only available for the lifetime of one catalogue. Generally, when they're gone, they're gone!
