Aching Legs and Feet and Poor Circulation

Review by M. Spittal
Overall Bought these socks to wear on frequent trans Atlantic flights. However, the sock is finished off at the top by the manufacturer folding the top over which makes a " hem". This gives a double layer of support which due to the supportive nature of the material causes a restrictive band on the leg. After a couple of hours this becomes tight and very uncomfortable. I then have a circular mark on the skin that takes a considerable while to resolve. I could not tolerate this sitting down on a plane for 10 hours! I do not have large or swollen legs either.
In my oppinion these socks are best worn for shorter periods only. It is a pity that these socks are not finished off like other Cosyfeet socks.
However, these socks do provide wonderful support and help prevent my legs from aching whilst shopping and ironing.
Would buy another pair but not until the top of the sock is finished in an alternative way.
With the world shrinking travel is something we all do a lot of, whether it be car, train, plane, coach or boat, it invariably means sitting in one position for a considerable amount of time, and this is often before we actually reach our means of transport, after all there is only so many times you want to wander round the departure lounge or the station waiting room.
The captain advises that for these journeys where one can not stretch ones legs as often as one would like a travel sock is just the ticket. Using compression to force blood back up the legs the tightest part of the sock is at the ankle, medium at the calf and the minimum at the knee. These socks combined with keeping well hydrated and the wiggling of toes and ankles should help keep at bay swelling caused by these periods of inactivity and the risk of a DVT. Leaving you ready to tackle anything on reaching your destination whether it be work or pleasure.
