Introducing our New Cushion Active shoe

27 Feb 2017 11:12:36

Our new Cushion Active system is incredibly shock-absorbing so it’s great for protecting knees and ankles when you’re on the go.

New for spring 2017, we’ve introduced a sporty women’s style called Move which incorporates our new Cushion Active Underfoot Comfort System. The special footbed offers you greater shock-absorption and cushioning than comparable comfort shoes or trainers and protects your knee and ankle joints when you’re on the go.

Move has a super-flexible sole which moves with your foot for maximum comfort. It also has a deep, seam-free toe box that provides excellent protection for sensitive toes. The soft, padded collar fits both swollen and slimmer ankles.

Move is priced at £69.00 (or £57.50 if you qualify for VAT relief due to a chronic medical condition). It comes in sizes 3 to 9 including half sizes and is available in Dove Grey, Jeans Blue or Navy.

New sandal accommodates orthotics!

27 Feb 2017 11:11:36

New for spring, we’ve launched our first ever women’s sandal that will accommodate bespoke orthotics.

If you have swollen feet and need your own orthotics, you can now fit them inside our newly launched Sunrise sandal. This is the first women’s sandal we’ve ever made that will accommodate bespoke orthotics.

Developed to meet the specific needs of women with swollen feet, the sandal is padded at the heel for cushioned comfort and support. It also has a lightweight sole which is flexible and cushioned for comfort.

The Sunrise sandal is priced at £69.00 (or £57.50 if you qualify for VAT relief due to a chronic medical condition). It comes in sizes 4 to 9 including half sizes and is available in Lichen, Azure and Navy. Strap extensions are also available for especially swollen feet.

“This sandal has been developed to meet a specific need among our customers,” says Managing Director Andrew Peirce. “Now there is no need for ladies with swollen feet who need orthotics to go without a sandal in the spring and summer time.”

Make your own bird feeder

27 Feb 2017 10:26:33

At this time of year our feathered friends are still looking for food to help them survive the winter. You can help supplement their diet by creating a simple feeder from materials you probably already have lying around the house.

At this time of year our feathered friends are still looking for food to help them survive the winter. You can help supplement their diet by creating a simple feeder from materials you probably already have lying around the house.

Things you’ll need

Plastic drinks bottles, clean yoghurt pots or milk cartons, wire or string, bird seed, and scissors.

How to make the feeder

Cut a hole in the side of your container that is large enough to allow a free flow of seeds, but in such a way that it won’t fall out on the ground in the slightest puff of wind and won’t get wet if it rains.

Make a few small holes in the bottom of your feeder to allow any rainwater to drain away. Hang it with wire or strong string from a tree or your washing line and fill with bird seed.

If your feeder starts to wear out or the food in it goes mouldy, simply recycle it and make another one! Remember to keep your feeders well stocked, especially in winter. Birds come to rely on them and will go hungry if you forget.

Have you ever wondered how many parts make up a Cosyfeet shoe? We’ve deconstructed our Alison style to show you all the hidden details that make up this ultra-comfy shoe.

1: Touch-fastening for straps & 2: straps - used to fasten the shoe and provide adjustment to help accommodate various foot shapes and sizes.

3: Tongue Foam - soft padding in the tongue for extra comfort across the instep.

5: Vamp - leather upper piece covering the toe area.

6: Thread - Strong nylon or cotton threads used in sewing the shoe pieces together.

7: Vamp Lining - sanitised (toe area) woven and cushioned lining allows your feet to breathe.

Customer request: Diabetic friendly socks

13 Feb 2017 09:12:55

We have quite a large collection of diabetic friendly socks. One of my favourites is the Medalin® Comfort Socks.

Customer request: What sock would you recommend to someone who has diabetes?

Liz, our Cosyfeet Shop Manager & Fitting Expert says:
We have quite a large collection of diabetic friendly socks. One of my favourites is the Medalin® Comfort Socks. It’s specially made for people with diabetes, vascular disorders or circulatory problems. It protects vulnerable feet against irritation, chaffing or pressure which can cause sores and ulcers. The yarn is fairly thick so it offers protection around the foot but because it’s 90% cotton, it’s still cool to wear.

Customer request: Sore toes

6 Feb 2017 13:12:55

I would recommend our Gel Toe Caps. They are soft, gel-filled caps which cushion and protect the whole toe.

Customer request: I have painful calluses on my toes. What can you suggest to relieve them?

Liz, our Cosyfeet Shop Manager & Fitting Expert says:
I would recommend our Gel Toe Caps. They are soft, gel-filled caps which cushion and protect the whole toe. They’re ideal for taking the pressure off calluses, corns, in-growing toe nails or hammer toes. They’re also ideal for protecting toes that have lost a nail and work wonders on cracked skin on fingers. They come in two sizes. I usually suggest the large size for the big toe and the medium for the smaller toes. They’re washable by hand and should be allowed to dry naturally.
