Choosing footwear for severely swollen or bandaged feet
9 Jun 2014 09:19:09
If your feet are severely swollen or bandaged you may need to look for extra extra wide shoes. It’s possible that your feet may be very painful or sensitive so you’ll also need footwear that has easy access. It’s recommended that you choose a style that you can open right out so that you can gently ease your feet into them.
It’s also important to look for a style that has an adjustable fastening. Look out for a shoe that uses touch-fastening. This will enable you to cope with swelling that varies throughout the day. An adjustable fastening will also help if only one foot is bandaged or if one foot is more swollen than the other.
The Rowan style from Cosyfeet is a unisex shoe with an extra roomy fitting. It opens out fully so a swollen or bandaged foot can be placed inside without struggling or difficulty. The touch-fastening gives an adjustable but secure fit and despite its roominess, this shoe looks very neat on the foot.
Thank you for your comment, we are sorry to hear that the Richie style proved unsuitable for your husband.
We can advise that we do sell an even wider slipper/ house-shoe style in the Rowan and perhaps this would be more suitable.
For further advise, please do not hesitate to contact us.
