The 2015 Cosyfeet Community Award

Cosyfeet Community Award

Following the success of 2014, we are running the Cosyfeet Community Award scheme again this year.

There are two awards of £500 available – one for projects that operate within Somerset and a national one for projects outside the county.

The awards are available to registered charities or not-for-profit organisations working on projects within the UK that support and enrich older people’s lives.

We are interested in projects that provide practical and emotional help, keep older people active or give them a chance to meet up with others. It might be a friendship group, a lunch club, a telephone befriending service, an exercise class or even a special interest group – anything that helps older people feel less isolated and part of their community.

Priory Knit Wits won last year’s national award. Based in Newton Stewart, the group meets every week for a chat, a cuppa and to knit for a host of good causes at home and abroad.

Shipham Active Living won the local award. The group offers a varied programme to older people in the community. Activities include cooking for one, exercise classes, card making and willow weaving.
