Devised by Diabetes UK, this week is devoted to raising awareness of diabetes and raising money to help fund research into the condition.

Devised by Diabetes UK, this week is devoted to raising awareness of diabetes and raising money to help fund research into the condition.

According to figures released in May, the number of people with diabetes in the UK has reached an all-time high of 3.9 million. This shows how important it is that people are educated in how to self-manage it and prevent complications such as amputations or blindness from arising.

This year, the focus is on reminding people that you are not on your own when it comes to diabetes. Throughout the week, Diabetes UK will be giving support, advice and the chance to learn more about diabetes to help you manage your condition well.

They would also like to hear your own hints, tips and stories of living life to the full.

Hundreds of events and fundraising activities will take place across the UK to mark Diabetes Week, and this will include a fundraising effort from the team at Diabetes.co.uk. They have chosen to fundraise for a diabetes charity, which will be chosen with the help of their online community, by climbing to the top of Mount Snowdon in Wales (for the second time).
