Discover what makes our footwear so special

All of our footwear for both men and women has the same extra roomy width fittings - 3H for men and 6E for women. As most of our styles are fully adjustable, they can accommodate a range of foot shapes and swelling. And because our footwear is so roomy, there’s no need to order a larger shoe size than normal to get the extra width and depth that you need.

The sole unit on our ‘hidden depth’ styles allows the foot to sit below the sole line. This means the extra depth is ‘hidden’ within the shoe to keep it looking neat and streamlined. This is particularly useful if you have swelling which affects the overall depth of your foot.

We work closely with The Royal College of Podiatry (RCOP) and the Healthy Footwear Guide to ensure our products are safe for those who suffer from diabetes. This includes smooth interior finishes, with minimal seaming, as well as utilising soft non-abrasive fabrics. However, not all of our products may be suitable for your feet, so you need to make your own judgement or ask a medical advisor. We advise the following:

• Run your fingers inside any item before wearing, checking for anything that may harm
• After buying new footwear, wear it for 30 minutes to 1 hour at first, then inspect your feet for pressure marks or irritation
• A hand mirror is useful so you can examine your whole foot
• Gradually build up the wearing time.

A number of our footwear styles have the option of a removable insole - this is perfect if you need specialised orthotics, or have a particular insole you prefer to wear. It’s also very useful for creating even more space within the footwear to accommodate swelling, so you can walk in comfort.

If you have especially swollen feet we can supply matching strap extensions to lengthen the existing straps on most of our touch-fastening styles. This helps to increase adjustability, to give you more space where it’s needed most - ideal for swelling or feet that need extra width.
