What’s so special about Manuka Oil?

It seems that everyone is talking about this essential oil and its amazing antibacterial, antifungal and anti-inflammatory properties.

Manuka – is this the ‘new’ wonder oil?

For centuries, New Zealand Maori have been using Manuka Oil to treat everything from rheumatism and fevers to burns and skin disorders. Extracted from the leaves and branches of the L. scoparium Manuka tree, this essential oil not only conquers deadly bacterial infections, but also relieves a host of other ailments - from anxiety to eczema. As a potent healer, Manuka oil is making its mark as a remedy far more effective than conventional medical care.

Recently, scientists have confirmed that Manuka Oil is up to 33 times stronger than tea tree oil for protecting against certain strains of bacteria. It's also effective against the MRSA (Methicillin-Resistant Staph. Aureus) bacteria, which is resistant to normal antibiotics.

Used in skin care, the antibacterial, anti-fungal and anti-inflammatory properties of remarkable Manuka oil combat skin irritation and infections, including acne-causing bacteria.

Another great thing about Manuka oil is that it is far milder than tea tree oil and never stings the skin, even when applied to blemishes. It's a great essential oil to have in your first aid kit as it can also treat insect bites, sunburn and aching muscles in addition to fungus, rashes, scrapes and other abrasions.
