Time for a cuppa 2014

Why not join Dementia UK in their fundraising from 1st to 8th March and make time for a cuppa.

It's as easy as 1, 2, Tea!

Dementia UK are asking people to make ‘Time for a Cuppa’ from 1st to 8th March. The idea is to bring people together, raise funds and have fun. From a small tea party at home to a large community affair or a tea break at work, the money raised will make a difference.

Why are they asking people to take part?

Dementia UK is a national charity that’s committed to improving the quality of life for all people affected by dementia. Dementia UK supports mental health nurses called Admiral Nurses who specialise in dementia care.

Admiral Nurses provide a lifeline to hundreds of people across the country. This can include psychological support to help family carers understand and deal with their feelings, practical advice and information, referrals to other services and liaison with other professionals to provide support when it’s most needed.

There are an estimated 800,000 people diagnosed with dementia in the UK. Sadly there is only a one in 7000 chance of families affected by dementia having access to an Admiral Nurse service. Dementia UK want to change that. For more information go to www.timeforacuppa.org.
