Claiming for VAT Relief

Individuals who are chronically sick or disabled can claim VAT Relief on those products shown with "without VAT" prices. A person is 'chronically sick or disabled' if they:

  • Have a physical or mental impairment that has a long-term affect on their ability to carry out everyday activities
  • Have a condition that doctors treat as a chronic sickness (like diabetes, for example)

OR

  • Are terminally ill

The following conditions may also qualify for VAT Relief in some circumstances; Arthritis, Multiple Sclerosis, Oedema, Heart Disease, Stroke.

A person with a temporary injury like a broken leg would not qualify, nor would a frail older person who is otherwise well and non-disabled.

Choosing the right size footwear...

All our women’s footwear is made with an 6E width fitting (equivalent to a US 6E width fitting). That means that it’s much, much wider, deeper and roomier than ordinary footwear. But don’t worry if you don’t know your width fitting as our footwear is adjustable which means it can cope with a range of foot shapes and problems and is ideal for swollen feet.

Most customers find that if they order the shoe size they wore before experiencing swelling or problems (e.g. size 6), our footwear is wide and deep enough to provide the extra room they need. If you usually take a half size and we don't offer a half size in the style you want, we recommend you order the smaller full size.

What makes Misty waterproof?

The CosyTex™ membrane between the leather and the lining is at the heart of this waterproof shoe. It’s an extremely thin layer of polytetrafluoroethylene, a strong, tough, waxy resin which has millions of tiny pores per square inch. Due to its microporous structure, it has some amazing characteristics.

From out to in it's very durable and waterproof, allowing you to stay dry and enjoy your activity in comfort. From in to out it allows sweat to pass through and helps reduce overheating and perspiration build up. The membrane and lining seams are sealed using a waterproof tape which is applied by specialist equipment and machinists.

Care Guide

Cleaning & caring for leather/ waterproof mesh footwear

  • This footwear should not be hand or machine washed.
  • Please be aware the outside upper material is a combination of quality grain leather and breathable fabric.
  • Wipe leather pieces with a damp cloth and allow to dry fully before using a good quality shoe polish or shoe cream in an appropriate colour. Apply with a suitable cloth, avoiding the fabric detail, rub in until absorbed and then buff up with another cloth.
  • If your footwear gets wet allow it to dry naturally. Don’t put them in the airing cupboard or near a fire or radiator. Stuffing them with newspaper or tissue will help ensure they maintain their shape whilst drying.
  • Allow any mud or stains to dry before attempting to remove them from the waterproof mesh  Once dry, remove any dirt with a soft brush and then wipe with a damp cloth.

If your footwear gets wet allow it to dry naturally. Don’t put them in the airing cupboard or near a fire or radiator. Stuffing them with newspaper or tissue will help ensure they maintain their shape whilst drying.
