What makes Stanley waterproof?
The CosyTex™ membrane between the leather and the lining is at the heart of this waterproof shoe. It’s an extremely thin layer of polytetrafluoroethylene, a strong, tough, waxy resin which has millions of tiny pores per square inch. Due to its microporous structure, it has some amazing characteristics.
From out to in it's very durable and waterproof, allowing you to stay dry and enjoy your activity in comfort. From in to out it allows sweat to pass through and helps reduce overheating and perspiration build up. The membrane and lining seams are sealed using a waterproof tape which is applied by specialist equipment and machinists.
You can use a neutral cream on a clean cloth and this will not affect the waterproof qualities of the shoe. Both a neutral cream and a neutral polish are useable. However, as this is a casual style, a cream is preferable as it will maintain the characteristic of the leather. A polish will, over time, make the leather a little glossier / dressy in appearance which will change the look of the shoe.
You could also use a colour polish, but the shoe has got contrasting stitching, which would gradually turn the colour of the stitching and you will probably find it difficult to buy a polish to match the colour of the shoe/boots.
Our men’s styles are a 3H width fitting. They are specially designed to fit very wide or swollen feet and are wider, deeper and roomier than anything on the high street.

The deep, seam free toe area is great if you have sore or problem toes. The lace up offers good support which is important if you are walking over rough paths.
