Andrew, is 21 and lives in Shepton Mallet. He left Whitstone School when he was 16 to study at Strode College where he first gained a Level 3 National Diploma in IT Practitioners (Triple Distinction), before going on to achieve the highest possible grade of Distinction for his Foundation Degree at Strode.

He is now working with websites, e-marketing and graphics at Cosyfeet in Street, where he completed a work placement as part of his course. Andrew is also studying with the Open University to top-up his Foundation Degree to an Open Degree in Computing and IT.

He was delighted when Strode introduced their Foundation Degree in E-Business Technologies because it meant he could take his learning to a higher level at the college where he was happy and successful.

Studying locally had other benefits too.

Andrew said: "The atmosphere and support at Strode is great, and I really appreciated the opportunity to stay there and continue my studies to a higher level. My Foundation Degree has given me a great deal of real world skills, with the bonus of being able to commute from home and reduce my costs."
