Make a difference in your community
‘Make a Difference’ is about encouraging people across the UK to take part in voluntary work. It’s organised by the Community Service Volunteers (CSV), a volunteering and training charity. Founded in 1962 they aim to help society by encouraging people to volunteer to create happy, healthy communities.
This year’s theme is ‘Get Inspired’ which aims to inspire as many people as possible to find out about local volunteering opportunities and the ways in which to sign up and get going.
There are all sorts of ways you could get involved. Driving older people to hospital appointments, sharing your knowledge or skills with school children, knitting garments for children undergoing a difficult time or befriending isolated, older people are just a few of the options.
If you want to set up your own activity, the CSV have lots of resources, help and advice to get you started or you can volunteer for one of the thousands of projects happening across the country.
If you are thinking about getting involved or already volunteer in your community we’d love to hear about it. Why not tell us about it in the message box below.
