The feel-good power of gardening

Every year the Royal Horticultural Society announces their theme for National Gardening Week. For 2023, it's ‘create your coronation container’ to celebrate His Majesty King Charles III.

Whether it’s sowing seeds together, taking a moment to nurture your houseplants or enjoying a cup of tea in your favourite green space, there’s so much joy to be found in gardening, and studies have also shown it’s a great way to help improve physical, mental and social wellbeing.

Experience green joy at the RHS Gardens

Throughout National Gardening Week (1st – 7th May) activities will be taking place at all five RHS Gardens. Visit RHS Gardens Wisley in Surrey, Bridgewater in Salford, Harlow Carr in Yorkshire, Hyde Hall in Essex and Rosemoor in Devon to discover activities for all ages, during the nation’s biggest celebration of gardening.

Share the feel-good power of plants

Take part in National Gardening Week by simply finding your own joy in gardening. Whether you’re taking a walk through your local green space, sowing seeds with the grandchildren or being creative with your very own coronation container, rekindle your love of gardening or give it a go for the very first time.
