Salford Podiatry student, Jay Wasilewski, has won this year’s Podiatry Award. Jay plans to use her £1000 award to set up an initiative to provide free training on basic foot health to family, friends, volunteers and professionals involved in care for the elderly. Her initiative will benefit those who are no longer able to care for their own feet, and help prevent them developing serious foot health problems. Jay was selected from a wide range of high calibre candidates for this year’s award.
“We’re deeply impressed by Jay’s vision and believe she has the knowledge and experience to make a very real difference in this often neglected area of elderly care” says Managing Director Andrew Peirce.
We look forward to following Jay’s work and updating you on the scheme.
