Diabetes Week is held annually around the UK and is about raising awareness of the condition as well as raising funds.
Throughout the country, events are held to raise money for Diabetes UK, the charity that organises the week. It’s the largest diabetes charity in the UK and it uses the money donated to fund research into the condition.
The charity also runs a care linewhich gives practical information and emotional support to anyone affected by diabetes – whether you have it yourself, or a friend or family member does.
There are a number of ways to take part in this important week. You could organise a sponsored walk, hold a quiz at your local pub, bake and sell cupcakes or hold a raffletoraise awareness.
If you’ve got any fundraising events planned for Diabetes Week, we’d love to hear from you.
