Loves shoes? Then this could be the exhibition for you. “Shoes: Pleasure and Pain” looks at the extremes of footwear from around the world and is on at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London until 31st January 2016.
There are over 200 pairs of shoes on display, ranging from a sandal decorated in pure gold leaf originating from ancient Egypt to elaborate designs by contemporary shoe makers.
The exhibition looks at the cultural significance of shoes and examines the latest developments in footwear. Examples from famous shoe wearers and collectors are shown alongside a dazzling range of historic shoes, many of which have not been displayed before.
