Winners of the Local Cosyfeet Community Award!

We’re pleased to announce that the winners of the Cosyfeet Local Community Award are Shipham Active Living in Somerset.

Enriching the lives of older people

Launched this year, the Cosyfeet Community Award offers a one-off donation of up to £500 to registered charities or not-for-profit organisations and clubs who are working on local projects within the UK that support and enrich the lives of older people.

There are two awards available – one for projects operating within Somerset (where Cosyfeet is based) and one for projects operating outside of the county.

We are pleased to announce that this year’s winner of the local award is Shipham Active Living. The group meets fortnightly and offers a varied programme to older people in the community. Activities include cooking for one, exercise classes, card making and willow weaving. The highlight of the meeting is the freshly prepared two-course lunch made by local caterers.

“Active Living provides an opportunity for older people to get out and socialise with others and get involved in the community,” says Roger Knight, the treasurer. “It also allows them to be informed, exercise their minds and bodies and enjoy a nutritional meal. This award will ease the problem of finding affordable speakers and entertainers.”
